Right here goes..

I ordered a new windscreen seal from John Craddocks 33.89 for a bearmach original spec. My garage cracked the glass and said they'll have to replace the whole screen at their expense. He decided to get a company in to suply and fit as they are are a pain to fit. The pro came out tried to put the screen in 4 times and he couldnt get it to go in, with most probably cracking it. They thought the aperture of the frame was fine, so decided it could only be a faulty seal from bearmach! Spoke to John craddocks, they have never had this problem before but theres a first for everything or the fitters a wimp.

From experience is it really quite hair raising when you get the last bit of seal in?

Any thoughts ?

soak the new seal in a bucket of boiling water for 10 minutes just before you fit the glass

find a proper fitter

haha just picked it up, the ol boy at garage did it! puts the young 'pro fitter' that came out on site to shame!

I'm going to need to do mine at some point in the next few months. The seal has pretty much perished, god knows how much water it's letting in. The inside of my bulkhead will be nicely rotting away

Same here Pos,
Rubber is perished to bits and ive noticed some rot on the inside of my bulkhead, also water coming into footwell when hosepipe is pointed onto screen.
£20 rubber from Fleabay is on its way....then for the fun )

Think i'll treat the rusty area and top of bulkhead to some chmical rust sealer, sanding priming and spraying before I fit new seal.

i went through 2 screens getting mine in with a new rubber seal, and that was with abotu a gallon of washing up liquid!!!

There was an excellent article in Landrover International a couple of months ago - took me an hour with a new seal, jelly, para cord and a vacuum glass holder.
