Hello all one of the electric windows on my 54 plate RR vogue 4.4 v8 went down but would not come back up, all other windows still go up and down fine. Is it likey the motor gone and is it normal for it to go so sudden without warning also it is the back left window. Currently sat with tarpaulin over it and interior is going mouldy from the moisture :(

Does it not work on either switch...the door or the drivers door?

Have you tried pressing and holding the key fob lock button to see if the easy close will close it too?

Hi, yes I have tried both it's own switch and drivers all other windows work but not that one also holding the fob dosent work.

Diagnostics would let you operate the window, if it doesn't move from diagnostic command, time to pull the trim off and check for power etc.

Yes, the right diagnostics can as Keith says, if it won't open/close...then time to pull trim....if it does, time to check the switches and the wiring thereto.

Oh right, yes I have obd reader but only cheapo off eBay I don't get any faults but I'm assuming the code reader no good for a range rover.

You need Range Rover specific diagnostics for the year of manufacture of your car.

Has anyone ever seen or used one of these before thinking of investing in this one if it will do what I need it to?

It is a good piece of kit for the price....but it won't be able to activate the windows to see if they move....it will, I think, show if the window buttons are being registered by the BCU (Body Control Unit) via live data....I will have to check on mine!

Full fat diagnostics like T4 testbook, or a Faultmate Extreme can be used to actually actuate the windows via the diagnostics system to see if they move.

Not sure if it covers your year of car, but have a look at Rovacom-IQ. If it covers your year and model it's a top piece of kit at a very competitive price. (no affiliation)

After watching videos I teased theres a few different models ect standard one and then the EU, CR PLUS CR PRO ect but from what I can gather it's the CR PRO that does the most for you.

Thanks I will take a look at the others you mentioned to.

Hi guys I know you have already given me the help and advice on this one but I just have a little more information that I failed to mention that might shed a little light on the subject, I forgot to mention that if I press the window button down from either the drivers door or the passenger door itself I can hear the mechanism in the door working going down but if I lift it up nothing no sound from the door itself but there is a clicking noise that sounds like it comes from front passenger side foot well or the glove box area does this help narrow the problem down at all? @Datatek @Saint.V8
