My mate has told me about a tool he's seen used for refitting the strip into alpine window seal - from what i can gather, it's something like this...

...but with a roller attached to the back of it to push the rubber into the freshly spread gap.

Only problem is we can't find one anywhere - he no longer has any contact with the place he used to work and saw it used.

Anyone else seen one and/or know where we can get hold of one...

If not we're just going to have to try and do it manually!
 
cant you use the ol nylon string technique?

No, it's not that type of seal! it has a seperate strip which fits like a wedge and tightens the seal once the glass is in place. That was my first comment when he said about this tool
 
It's just a bit of bent wire with a handle. Make one. You don't really need it though just open the gap up with a screwdriver or something and feed the strip in behind it.
 
i think the last one i did like that i used a bit of welding rod and pushed the 'filler' in behind it with me left hand
