Having just purchased a winch I am quite aware how easy they are to steal/remove.
Are there any security devices that are recommended to secure these?
I thought about tacking a couple of the bolts with weld?

shear bolts, tack weld.
My other concern would be the bumper, not much point securing the winch to bumper, if you can have away with both relatively easily...

dont forget you also need to be able to maintain the winch.

I've peened the bolts securing the winch to the bumber on mine, very simple to do, but makes it much harder to steal, unless they turn up with a drill!

Just weld everything if you really want it secure or you could always use security nuts

always weld a winch either that or get a guard dog/sloth/grizzly bear

Live in the country a long way from anyone else - that way you never lock your landy and get to use your winch most days
