I get several bits from halfords, after all they are convenient, guaranteed and with a trade card cheap.

£1.09 for radweld is pretty good.

I dont think an oil filter is going to fail, i've not known it happen but someone might...if you're on veg and change filter often i dont see point in buying oem or expensive filters, £2 a pop can't be bad and if you buy 5 you shouldn't be in a position of needing one in 15mins on a sunday afternoon...

Anyway...i only live 10 miles from craddocks so ner ner na ner ner to MHM

Yebbut there's 5 so only 80p a filter..do the maths...or free if you get your big brother to nip in on his way home from brum...ner ner na ner ner

look even further in to it lads, there are only three or four manufacturers in the country that make the guts of the filters, they are all the same, they are sprayed a different colour and a jcb stickers on them , bmw, audi, vauxhall, landrover, etc etc, the size and shame are the only difference,

they only cost pennies to make, to handling charges, re packing , re branding and of course the NAME thats on them you pay for,

This is the same for alot of parts and even engine oils, there are only a few refineries that make motor oil and then its all rebranded, batteries are the same, filters, brakes, its all rebranded and sold at silly prices by main dealers!!

Stick with aftermarket stuff, its cheaper and just as good, just stay away from cheap chinese crap!

yeah but I dont think most chepo ones are made in this country , I had some bad ones from a well known universal part manufactuerer for the landy, and some for the old bmw from an aftermarket place and they both were ****e and made the oil light take 10-15 secs to go out. binned them and fitted coopers and fram respectively and the light went out straight away as it should

went to halfords today for a fuel filter £10:eek: fook that went to local motor factors was £4 so i got two and still had £2 in me pocket for what alfords wanted
