As per title really, it never really seems to give out much heat or warm the car up very well, I've noticed it recently in this really cold weather.

Any ideas or anything i should check? Or are they all like this lol?

Ok i know its been - 2 and -3 out there, but i have found the heaters aren't the best in the world, ( and i have driver a LOT of Range Rovers more than most) and they always seem to be that way in very cold whether, they just about manage in very cold weather, also there is a lot of glass in them for the heat to escape, and if you smoke (im giving up this year!!) and you crack the window open that wont help, ever noticed how they improve as you go around a bend or corner for a few seconds??

it takes around 3 million miles to get the cabin warm then opening the window after lighting a woodbine freezes the tits off yer passengers

now my missus is going to be driving round and round our local round about trying to warm the rangy up for the school run. and costing me a fortune in petrol. thanxs mate.

With the P38s that have climate control, as long as it demists the windows, if it's working correctly you shouldn't notice the temp, it should be a comfortable temperature. On mine I now that you don't notice the air coming out of the vents as hot unless you put it all the way up to HI.

sounds like its not just mine then.

Yes water levels are fine.

If you run fan manually, the air that comes out of th vents never seems very warm, not good in these tempertures, was -6 when i got in mine this morning.

Mine is generally toasty. Are you setting the blower to recirculate the cabin air? The manual recommends setting it to recirc to heat quicker, otherwise it's constantly trying to heat outside air.

Heater in my 89 classic use to take about 10 miles to get going after I put 200tdi engine in it, put heated front screen in it in the end so at least I could see where I was going ! I aint complaining about my p38 after that.

Mine gets toasty warm, but then it's an oil burner LOL. Check the pollen filters are not gunged up restricting air flow. I never use mine on Auto setting as it's never seems to get warm, in manual mode with the temperature set to 24C and it gets way too hot for comfort. 22 or 23C is just nice.

I've tried every setting, but the air out of the vent never really seems to get that warm, also tried on re circulate and doesn't really make much difference.

My pollen filter is pretty choked, so cleaned it and will get a new one tomorrow, but even with the filter out the air gets no warmer.

HVAC system works great in the summer keeping the car nice and cool. I just want some heat in these colder months.

Mine went crappy after I did two jobs , and I done know which job fecked it or if its because the weather got colder. Its a 1990 v8 classic BTW. only gets luke warm now.

First jobe remove heater intake grills to paint and put new foam in front of "ballast resitior"??? is it, that thing behind the foam anyway lol.

second was changing the coolant with K seal in it stop my leaks (really hard to get to core plugs) I spent ages bleeding it with top off and the engine gets up to temp nice and quick and never overheats.

So I dont know which is the problem, or the weather- I hate it when that happens

I must be luck!.. Toasty using the Auto button in a couple of miles.. Then turn onto Manual, nice and warm,. Pity about the screen heater not working tho.....

Mine gets very warm, and if you put it on recirculate it will roast you, my drivers side blend motor is stuck on max heat and i have to stuff a duster in the drivers floor vent and cool the cabin with the passenger control, temp gauge sits at 11 .0 clock position

Yea i would also say flush it, making sure you have no air locks in the system, that will definitly make the heater crap if you have air,

on a classic where would be best to access the two hoses, under the bonnet or inside the cab somewhere?

dont think i have a air lock? hows best to check or bleed the system?

Or i'm buying a wood burner for it!!!
