Yet another fault has occurred! Started freelander yesterday and noticed a sort of whooshing noise at low revs, but goes when I accelerate, I have looked under bonnet but can't seem to pinpoint anything,
Any thoughts or ideas appreciated
Thanks in advance

Thanks for the reply mark I've been trying to locate the issue for a few days now, it seems to stop at high revs , but yesterday once run for about 10 mins it stopped altogether then it started again also getting a funny smell , but not diesel or burning smell from front alternator side , I'm thinking change all air intake hoses, then I know its not them at fault and just try to work it out also air con isn't engaging so maybe a leak from pipe as occurred and maybe that's what the smell is

How would you suggest I check the air hoses , I cant see or feel any leaks on the hoses, I was also told it could be the intercooler that's caput I'm a bit stumped to be honest

Normally any pipes after the turbo if they are split will seep oil from the split.
The best way to inspect any air pipes is to remove them and check them carefully 👍
Check the surface and the sides of the intercooler as well for oil seepage.
If in doubt pull it out..

Do I need to remove the bumper to get intake pipe off one of them at drivers side looks tricky to remove

It's a good question, not being overly familiar with your Landy. Try and see if there is another way to do it before committing to the bumper removal first,🤔

Hi, if yours is a TD4 you don't have to remove the bumper for intercooler hose check/replacement.
