hi, just about to change both front CV'c / brake disks etc ( 96 reg ), while i am at it i have another problem - WHINING and not from swmbo either before some one starts......... :hysterically_laughi

The problem is that when accelerating i get a whine from underneath, now if i back off the throttle it stops, but put it under load again and it starts up, thinking its the rear diff ? if so how big a job to replace bearings etc ? is it a no no job best left to the pros ? ( thinking of loading / shims etc ) or is there a "kit" for a diff rebuild, or on the other hand could it be the transfer box output bearing ? Over to you for your thoughts / comments.

I'd say more likely the transfer box, rear diff is a little too far away, it'd have to be fairly loud to hear it. Have you checked oil levels?
