I would like to know which spring conversion kit I should go for and which ones to stay clear of.

I've seen the following:
  • a P38 Air to Coil Conversion Kit on Paddocks for just under £240.00.
  • Terrafirma TF222HD Conversion Kit Medium Load 1 Inch Lift from Challenger 4x4 for £280.00
  • P38A ARNOTT COIL SPRING CONVERSION KIT for €422.29
Any suggestions?

I would just like to here some opinions regarding spring conversion kits and that's all. The EAS debate is too long in the tooth.

Thanks James, the first "proper" answer. By what you said I gather the kit from Paddocks is Britpart then. I've heard mixed reports about all things Britpart, but as this item doesn't have "moving" parts I guess they should stand up to the test of time.

Do terrafirma do a heavy rate?

Yes they do, in fact on the page with the above kit they mention heavy rated ones as an option.

Personally I would prefer a heavy rate set up, but I wouldn't be rtv trailing, just muddy tracks and fields. What is lost in traction off road will be gained in handling on the road

If you're going down that path make sure the kit you get takes into account the weight that is on the right hand side of the vehicle (fuel tank and tbox if I recall correctly). Otherwise your P38 will sag on the right side. Terrafirma make a lot of accessories for these vehicles, so I'd assume they know what they are doing in that department.

That was the first answer to the question set, the rest were just personal opinions.:)
