Greetings,

I am looking to obtain a set of new Piston rings but I am not quite sure what size pistons I have removed from the block. My guess is STD because the engine was never rebuilt. The pistons have the Kolben Schmidt logo stamped on the tops and the only other markings I can see is listed below:

90,395
V6A1

And next to the directional arrow: N161

Am I correct with going with STD size?

Thanks.

I would personally measure the bore before assuming they are standard ,if you have the old rings you could fit one and measure the gap to see if using the same is in tolerance and feasible or if remedial work is required .guessing can be expensive

Thanks for the reply. Makes total sense. As an FYI, I actually found the info I was looking for in the 300tdi Overhaul manual.
Standard = 90.395 mm
1st oversize = 90.649 mm
2nd oversize = 90.903 mm

That may be the case but without measuring what you have as above you don’t know if it’s suitable to go back together as std.
Why have you taken it apart?
