Hi all,

I just have a query regarding mud flaps for my 1986 90. I have been looking at getting some, but I don't know which ones will fit it. I am in contact with a parts place and they say they have some 110 rear mud flaps. My problem is that I don't know whether I need mud flaps with a cut out for my exhaust or not. My Land Rover originally had the 2.5L petrol engine in it, hopefully from that you will know where the exhaust comes out. If possible, it would be great to get a photo of some rear mud flaps on/for a 1986 90 so I can email it to this parts place - I have struggled to find one on Google Images, but I'm sure someone who knows what they're doing would have better luck.

Thanks very much.

I can sell you some scissors. Jesus h christ. Wouldn't it be easier if you TOLD us where the exhaust comes out..left right side etc???

this has to go down as the greatest qs of all time on lz

The exhaust comes out on the left hand side, but it does on many other 90's and Defenders too. The difference is the angle that the exhaust comes out on in terms of whether a cut out is needed in the mud flap. One more thing, the reason for this part of the forum is to help people and give advice, I get the feeling some people have spent a little too much time on this forum, especially after looking at their posts on other threads, and are now missing the point a bit. I don't mind a joke and I know this is a boring question but you don't have to answer it. Please people, can I get some more helpful answers now you know which side my exhaust is on?

If you have nothing useful to say, then please don't bother posting when I ask a question.

I wish the owners of the site hadn't asked us to keep the type of response this member deserves to the anything goes section.

trying to give yu the answer that yu seek is very difficult, if not impossible if, as you say, "The exhaust comes out on the left hand side, but it does on many other 90's and Defenders too." That would appear to suggest yu want mudflaps with a cut out, however you then state "The difference is the angle that the exhaust comes out on in terms of whether a cut out is needed in the mud flap."
Now without wishing to **** on yo doorstep again, how is anyone on here going to know "the angle that the exhaust comes out" on your motor?

Your first post asked, and i have condensed, ''where shall i put the mudflaps on my 2.5 petrol engine''. Generally land rovers have one of these items at the front and one at the rear..unless you are series71 where they are in different postcodes.

It is sunday evening and the residents are looking for any distraction from the fact that in the morning they have to put their children up a chimney, or, under the patio.

Just sit back, read your post again...and maybe chuckle at the wording.

It seems like I'm ruining the fun for everyone. I think I shall buy some floor mats and staple them to my 90 and be done with it. I was hoping that someone with a 2.5 Petrol 90 who has mudflaps would just post, but there you go....
