shall i put me battery i have decided it no longer belongs under the bonnet do i put it under the passenger seat or make a box up and locate it in the load bay?

If it is inside the passenger compartment including under the seats, it is a good idea to have a fibreglass or plastic box secured over it (from the top) so then when you roll the Landy the battery acid won't drip onto you or the young lady beside you.

Ive just put mine on the top of the bonnet...cant be arsed lifting the passenger seat...looks good too with a lidl bag covering it! Highly recommended, i am actually going to put the engine on the roof next and the rear axle under the left wing mirror.

combined chubby and battery box ?

whats wrong with it where it is now ?

under the bonnet it get hot then cold then hot then cold which is what kills batteries plus if i go for a tdi i loose the space that the battery tray occupies

ere we have a load of them at work they are fragile! and the bottoms fall out

cheers CharlseY i was gonna fibreglass the inside of the seatbox if i put it in there

they last about 2 weeks before i have to get the ducktape out and line the inside with a cardboard box

what do you keep in em - i've got dozens of the bigger ones filled with parts - think the only one i've broke is the one that fell off the garage roof, and that had 100 drive flanges in

With the TDI, can you not just raise the battery tray a few inches to give it clearance? Most batteries are under the bonnet, I don't think the hot cold hot cold thing is much of an issue!

im undecided too g-spot, mine is in the normal series 2 tray , but i might move it to the passenger seat box, will see when i get round to it, just makes the filter housing look out of place tho, just hangs there then

modern cars have the batteries insulated away from the engine bay to prolong the life of it
