Afternoon all,

I have started to refit the dash today but I fear I’m going about it the wrong way.....

So where would you start? Basically I wanna get the instrument panel near the right position so I can start cutting these wires back

Also is there anything you would recommend doing/getting before starting?
As you can see so far all I have done is install the wiper motor and this metal plate with the vents in....

Please excuse the untidy Dynamat, first time I have used it!

Many thanks

I have started to make my own loom and at the moment I have them extra long so I could test things on the bench, so to speak.

Fuse box location?
Are there any magic box’s that are bolted to bulkhead? Bolt them on first.

Lay the instrument cluster on the steering column take wires back to the bulkhead, that way you would have enough slack for the future if you had to get in amongst it?

Just trying to throw some ideas/logic, Never done it before so maybe somebody who has will be along soon.

Oh an get a 55 gallon drum and fill it up with patience, and head scratching. I think you may use it:)

Good luck.

I think there is a magic box, as half of the fixings have done a vanishing act!

Thanks for the ideas, I want the fuse box to stay in the same location but would rather have one that I can just bolt on and wire to, rather than wire in, if that makes sense?

As for the patience, they ran out months ago and at this rate I’ll be bald before I know it lol....

I really want to get the ministry of defender dash that look like a lot less hassle in some respects:confused:
