Hello there.

I've got a '98 2.0 XEDi Freelander & the thermostat appeared to be playing up.

I got a new thermostat, but now for various reasons I now need a replacement housing that it goes into.

This appears to be part of the oil intercooler. It fits in the plastic elbow at the bottom. That's the bit I need.

For some reason every parts website I've looked at doesn't stock this piece of plastic. They have housings for the petrol/td4 but not for my old Rover engine.

Does anyone know where I might be able to get hold of one of these? My local scrap yards appear to be out of Freelanders at the mo.

Thanks.

I've tried my local scrap yards & bizarrely they've got no Diesel Freelanders in. Was hoping to avoid the Main Dealer, simply because I was living in fear that they'd say I'd need a whole new oil cooler or something.

I took a look at the part you mentioned, but the listing mentioned it was for a petrol model. Doesn't mention it until you get into the Product Detail.

I've googled up a few more scrappers in the Kent area & will give them a try first thing tomorrow.

Wish I'd never taken the old thermostat out now! :)

Rang all the local scrappers I could find. Not one of them were breaking a freelander, not even an accident/write off.

Bought a new housing & O-Ring from a place called Brookwells. Had to ring them as the part was not listed on the website. Bloke on the phone was very good.

Now I've got it it seems the oil & water are mixing up now. I've posted a new thread as this is now a new problem. :(

Thanks anyway.
