Hello all, i have a freelander with the L series engine that snapped the timing belt, i am in the process of lining up the timing marks, and i can not find the hole on the gearbox mounting plate to insert the locking pin into the flywheel, i am studying the rave cd i have but it doesn't shed much light on the location of the hole, any help would be much appreciated!

I just did mine http://www.landyzone.co.uk/lz/f9/freelander-tdi-timing-belt-done-160366.html

Hole is a bugger to find there is no way you an see it,just have to feel for it, assuming engine still in place I found only way I could get to it is by lying across engine and feeling for wire to crank sensor about 1/2 way down engine slightly to nearside from centreline of engine ,mine had ird cooling pipes above it when you locate crank sensor the hole is just below it and towards back of engine.
There is a picture of it on here somewhere if I can find it I will put it on for you ,helps with orientation.
good luck :)
