Ok, this might be a bit OCD of me but here goes.
I need to find out where to fit the four way junction for the brake pipes that sits on top of the drivers side chassis just in front of the bulkhead.
Mine had been bodged back on as near to it's original position as possible given that there was a bloody great big hole where it was supposed to be.
I'm not bothered about it being totally original, it's so bodged it will never be that. I just don't want to fit it and then find it's in the way of something else.
I don't think there is much there but it's so long since I took it to bits that it's getting hard to remember. I took about 5 million photos as I went but of course none of them show this bit.

The red dot is about where it wants to go I think. What i'm hoping is that some kind soul with a tape measure and too much time on their hands might be able to tell me measurements A and B.
Maybe if we say the red dot is where the pipe that comes down from the master cylinder and goes into the top of the 4 way junction is then I can fit the bracket I've made and keep it all about in the right place.

On mine it is further forward than that. It is more or less where the angled bracket is welded on. unfortunately I don't seem to be able uploada pic from my phone.

I'm in the same boat Steve, I need to relocated mine on a new chassis with no predrilled holes.

If you are using your old brake lines, could you refit those and where they all end up should be the right place? I'm fitting a new brake line kit which makes it a bit harder but the principle should be the same.

Like you, I took lots of pics, but they never quite answer all the questions. I've also refitted loads of stuff which makes fitting the lines harder, you've definitely taken the more sensible approach!

I can't help with dimensions for that 'cos my series 2a has a different braking system...

...however, if I were you I'd trail fit other bigger parts first and then make a plan for the brake line routing. You might have to remove these bigger bits of course to fit the lines (so it'll be a bit of musical chairs) but you then have a better idea of routing which will hopefully mean the chances of something nasty like "in service chafing" will be reduced.

I am also using all new brake pipes but i have got all the old ones still intact and in the same shape as when they came off. I could offer those up to the chassis and see how they look. Must try to avoid any dribbles of brake fluid though. I'm guessing you have dual circuit brakes as that junction is very different to mine.

Having all the old ones is a real help, I wish I had all of mine. If I were you I'd refit the old lines starting at the drums working back to the junction, 'loose fit' the junction, mark up the position to drill the chassis, drill the chassis, fit the junction properly then replace the old brake lines. I'm going to have to mock up the new lines with wire or something and do the same; if i get the location wrong the pre-made lines wont fit.

I will be able to post pics again tomorrow and I will do it then, if I remember.
