There are two pipes coming off of the radiator.

Where do these go to?

Thanks,

Thanks, I found the pipe that goes to the expansion tank.

There's a pipe coming up next to the fuel line which is of the same size. Is this the one that connects to the radiator here?

Thanks,
Roger

3.9 v8

I figured that there are two lines going to the fuel tank. One pumps the fuel forward to the engine and the other seems to return the fuel back to the tank, and as far as I can figure it, they both seem like they should attach to each side of the metal fuel line that connects to all the injectors. I think I understand how that all works, so I still am at a loss to where the second line goes from the above pic.

One goes to the expansion tank. The other goes to?? Beast says matrix, but I don't know what that means.

Thanks,
Roger

Thanks,
Roger

on the 3.5 engine there was a Y peice i think so that you could connect the 2 inlest on the rad from the small expantion pipe. The other big hose that comes of the expantion tank shoould go the rad bottom hose.

as for the fuel pipes they might be the hard black nylon pipes. The feed pipe is thicker thans the return. and there might be a in line filter in the feed pipe.

O.K. you want to know where the pipes off the radiator go.

One goes to the expansion tank, more correctly, it is a header tank. The other connection goes up to the plenum.

You mentioned fuel lines, one connects to the fuel rail, the other connects to the fuel pressure regulator.

Thanks,
I have got the fuel lines connected, sounds like I did that right. I got the header tank small pipe connected.

So the other small radiator pipe goes to the plenum? Which connector on the plenum? Seems like quite a few pipes go there and I wanted to make sure it was right.

Thanks,
Roger

This is how the two water hose fit on my 3.9.

Ahhh, I see! Thank you.

That means I've got another hose connected wrong. From your picture it looks like there should be a T piece between the left hand valve cover, and the top pipe that connects to the plenum. This should go straight down to the inlet manifold where the wrong hose is connected now, right?

can't tell for sure in your picture. I hope I didn't connect the cooling system up to the air system. If so I may have filled it with coolant.

Looks like all you need to do at the plenum is push on the crankcase breather pipe.

Looks like all you need to do at the plenum is push on the crankcase breather pipe.

But you just showed me where the rad hose connects, and there's already a hose there. That means I have to take it loose to connect up the rad. So the question becomes, where does the new loose hose go to?

Thanks,
Roger

Ok, I did a little experiment. I took the pipe loose that goes to the intake manifold (that is now hooked up where the small rad hose should go).

I poured water into the radiator, and it came out of this hose that I had just unhooked. So it's definitely part of the cooling system. So I now know where the rad hose goes, But now I don't know where the hose goes from the intake manifold, which in my previous picture was hooked into the intake plenum where the rad hose should be.

Thanks,
Roger

Ok had a look at mine with a bit more interest :)..

The hose from the manifold goes to the LH side of the plenum not the RH side as in your photo, the hose from the radiator goes to the RH side of the plenum.
The crankcase breather goes to the third larger inlet but before it dose it T's off to the plenum chamber where you have at present the short coolent hose.

A few more photos.

That's great, thanks. I've got it all hooked up now. Trying to start it. Appreciate the help.

Thanks,
Roger
