I'm new to posting but i have been a lurker for a few months I have read up & done the search for the 3 amigos, today i took my Freelander (1999 S reg) for a diognostic test as the amigos were on, it's come up with 6 faults

Though the chap said for me to do one fault at a time & recommened i do the front right wheel sensor first (cost approx £220 !) as he has cleared the others

on the sheet it says -: " Front right sensor electrical failure"
Front right sensor output too low,
Rear left sensor output too low,
Front right sensor electrical failure,
Front right sensor output intermittent,
Rear Left sensor output intermittent,

Then in an other box -: 1 fault found -:
Front right sensor electrical failure.

Now at the price quoted i thought i'd ask on here first to see if a) could it be a corroded terminal that just needs scratching ? b) a broken wire ? c) definatley needs replacement part ?

Make sure you do all the checks that come up in the seach ayway.

It does sound like it could just be a bad connection since it says electrical failure, you'll have to trace the wiring from the sensor checking any connections you find.

Sensors for early models like yours are considerably cheaper.

Faulty readings can also be caused by crap in the reluctor ring or play/end float in the hub.

in the search someone recommended that the wheel come off & hub then clean the sensor now i have discs at the front do i remove the discs as if it was Hub & then clean ?
I have taken it to my local garage & asked them to clean it, all they did was put it on ramps & spray with WD40 from underneath without wheel & Hub/disc removal

Also if the clean works or if i put a new sensor on will i need to get it on diognostic & lights turned off again ?
