hi I'm going to paint my land rover steel wheels white what's best paint applying with brush
whats best way primer? land rover paint? hammerite smooth or what thanks

Hi, it depends on how much time and money you want spend and how close to a professional job you want to go for.

When I did mine I had the tyres removed, I then prepped the wheels until they were back to bare metal or where existing coating was good well rubbed down. I then sprayed them with Upoxy 1K etch primer to get great adhesion (I had this left over from painting the 90 and was very impressed with it - I always have some in stock now). I also ran a bread of PU based sealant around the joint where the inner part meets the outer rim metal and always rusts out.

I then used Upol Diamond White 2k for a great finish.

To be honest with you the method I used could be replicated with aerosols or even brush with the same materials, brush will never give you the same finish so I would go aerosol. The PITA bit is getting the wheels immaculate in the first place.

Had short holiday beside Loch Lomond last autumn. Not a breath of wind, clear blue skies, autumn colours. It was stunning! :)

I am currently brush painting mine using machinary enamel. It was the hardest emanl paint I could find and is cheap which for me was the important issue.
