Hey folks.

I've got a shudder / shimmy that comes from the nearside front wheel when on the motorway if I go over 70'ish. I don't think it's tracking / balancing as I can't drive through it. The shudder / shimmy gets worse instead of disappears. There's also quite a 'clunk' comes from there too.

Are they prone to anything that anyone can think of there? I'm no good with my hands so I'll be leaving it to the garage but just thought I'd ask here to see if I might be able to point them in the right direction.

She's an 03 l322 4.4 petrol

One of my inboard suspension arm bushes had almost broken through which gave quite a clunk, I think it was the arm nearest the rear with the integral ball joint but I didn't have a wheel wobble.
Mine is a 2004 4.4 and at 2003 you are probably near to changing out all of them if they haven't been done already but use OEM type parts if you can and intend to keep it
I did the rear upper and lowers the year before

Thanks very much for both of those. I've called the garage (lrr range rovers) and mentioned it to them. Hopefully they will be able to sort it.

There is a phot of mine below but i still have a bit of a clunk which i think is just general play in my drivetrain but i will track it down one day
the attached image shows 3A262A and 3A262B but i cant remember which one was shot but i think its the rear one which connects to the lower ball joint shown

Once I had a judder not in the RR so not that relevant. But it turned out to be the INNER cv joint that goes into the gbox. Look there if nothing else is obvious. In my case nothing else helped and we did change and adjust a lot. Sorry if not relevant.

Just got the old girl back from the garage (London Range Rovers (lrr.co.uk)) and they've done a great job with all the 'immediates' and come back wtih various ball joint / anti-roll links needing replacing so I'm getting them done week after next. Hopefully it'll all be gone then. :)

(Very happy with the garage, reasonable cost and every car in there was a land rover so they've got plenty of experience. It was a recommendation from this site that sent me to them.)
