I noticed while giving the beastie a tub tonight that one of my wheel centres is missing; you know, the little plastic piece that says Landrover in the centre of the S2 alloy. On inspection the rest of them seemed to be half hanging off. When I pushed them back in they didnt clip or anything they just sagged again.

Are these things always lose like this? I was tempted to glue them in except I get a lot of flat tyres from mulga sticks and they wouldnt get the wheel on the tyre changing machine.

Is this a common problem?
Are they available on the after market or do I have to spend a small fortune and replace 5 of them from the LR Dealers? (shudder to think of the cost seeing as I got a quote for two clear square plastic headlight protectors at $80 each plus gst!!!)

HOLY SH*T BATMAN!!!!!!!

Just out of curiosity I happened to be passing the Landrover agent in Kalgoorlie and popped in and asked how much the wheel centres were. The lady rang a bloke who told her the answer, and I said she must have it wrong, I only wanted the tiny bit in the middle..she went and got one and sure enough it was the right part number....

The one on ebay (all silver..mine have the green logo in the centre) was 1 pound or about $2 each.....

The OEM from my dealer.....

$49 plus 10%GST= $53.90 EACH !!!!!!!!!

Thats's$216 the set!!!!!!!!!

Does any one else think thats just a tad steep?

aye if you bought a new disco from the parts counter, it would cost you about a million quid.

remember when rover cars couldnt make a red cent? well unipart used to make fookin zillions.
