Hi Folks,

Looking to move from standard 19" wheels with road tyres to an 18" rim and All Terrain tyre set up. Was considering the Compomotive PD1881 wheel shod with BF Goodrich All Terrain tyres. Am hoping to improve off road traction. Appreciate there may be some more road noise and not quite so sharp handling (well it's all relative...)

Any feedback or thoughts with these, or similar alternatives? With a 265/65x18 tyre do we still get full wheel and tyre to body clearance within the wheel arch, at full suspension and steering travel? Spacers or lift kits necessary? Spare still fit in the underfloor area?

Thanks.

I had 18 LR rims on my D3, fitted with 255/65/18 Pirelli Scorpion ATR tyres. These got me to anywhere I fancied going, and were brilliant on the road too.

I'm not sure 18" rim will fit over the brakes on a D4 though, as I'm sure they're larger than those on the D3.

Thanks Nodge68. Yes I believe that due to the larger disc brakes on the LR4 not all 18" wheels fit. Compomotive are saying the 18" PD1881 does fit, and there are certainly lots of photos online showing LR4s wearing this wheel.

This was what I had on my D3. I liked the ATRs, as they're covered all basses.
