Will that kit come with the part to blank off the Exhaust side or shall I just weld up the end bit and stick it back on.

The pipe seems to go via some sort of water cooling is this correct?

Could I just close the ERG manually and then just remove the vacuum line (put a screw in it)

Some have done it with no issue ...

But it is your choice ...

On the td6 when the EGR activates the drop in flow is monitored by the ECU at the AFM, if it does not see that drop in air flow it defaults the ECU, puts the light on and goes into limp mode ...

You could simply pulled the vacuum hose off the EGR valve and plug it with a woodscrew.
Then take off the EGR valve, clean it out, check that the valve is closed to the exhaust inlet port and refit it leaving the vacuum pipe off...

Same effect as fitting a by-pass kit but at nil cost...and reversible ... :D
