Looks like I'd benefit from replacing the alternator on my Disco. However, there seem to be two different alternators floating around and I thought it would be good to set the record straight.
AMR5425 - I understand it's the original part number.
YLE101130R - a replacement part, which of course makes sense unless...
...somebody told me that the YLE part is difficult to fit on a 300tdi Disco because the pulley that comes with the part sticks out a bit too much for the belt to catch it properly. Hence I'd have to refit my old pulley. Please note that this is anecdotal information and I've got no way of proving how truthful it is.
Also I've seen the pics of this YLE thing and it looks slightly different than my original alternator.
Any feedback would be appreciated.
