Hi All,

I am looking at buying my first Range Rover.
Would be looking for something around the £8,000 - £9,000 mark with the possibility of having it converted to run on LPG.

As I know nothing about the Range Rover (apart from the need to own one) - just wondered if you could give me a few pointers on what to look out for when buying.
What to avoid, whats a must have.

Thanks,

Paul

A good service history and receipts to back up any work said to have been completed is a must.. Read through the forum and look for potential problems, of which RR has a few. Check the normal things, electrics and most of all Heating.. I thought mine was ok until a day later.. Just waiting for new blend motors to be fitted -- £300!.. Try and find someone local to you who may come with you (if you buy them a beer) to help out ((Why didnt I think of that.. DOH)

The way I see it now.. If it cost £100 to fix a normal Saloon, then it will cost £400 on a RR ;)

For the money your spending it shouldnt be a problem finding 1 thats in a1 condition and converted to lpg, check for leaking air suspension and go through all of the gears hi and lo try and find a Range Rover that has lots of receipts, the more thingsthat have been repaired should be a good sign as this will mean less for you to repair also check for leaking torque converter and gearbox.
