Hope you guys can help me out.
What signs should i be looking out for to find out if my head gasket is going/gone?Recently purchased a 1995 4,6 hse!
As much info on this would be great!

Take the lid off your expansion tank and give the contents a sniff you should be able to smell exhaust gases in the water, its hard to explain the smell but you will just know its wrong. The other ones are creamy mayonaise like deposits on the dip stick and oil filler cap

take it to local garage and ask them to do sniff test on it

The first thing to look out for is making sure that series71 hasn't owned it before you.

thats easy......check fer punch dents,kick dents and bite marks on the steering wheel

Dont you mean check round the back of the shed to see if theres a pile of old hg's

And thats just from the missus being fed up with it sat in the garden.
