Im undecided, its sat under my oak tree getting a loveley sap coating. All the dashboard is in pieces. It needs the heater putting back in, a new steering box the OSF inner wing has a bigger gap in it than the grand canyon so that needs plating.

Its had New dizzy cap, leads, valley gasket replaced. Starts first turn of the key, may have a sticky valve as it backfires occasionally. Gear box and transfer box all functional the gearbox is a "bit notchy" between 1st+Reverse (its possible to get reverse instead of forst) Its also got 5! alloys although the rears need some air in as its been standing.

So do i A: keep it, strip the interior out and replace with bucket seats, a big rev counter and an aluminium style "dashboard" lift kit and winch?

B: spend ages breaking it, only to be left with half a disco that i will have to somehow get to the scrappers to weigh in the remains.

C. sell it on fleabay at a bargain price along the lines of "perfect donor/spares"

The missus is moaning its just sat there, so what do all u lot think? :D

Give me the engine so I can build a superchaged lump for my cortina!!!

If not.................A) build a monster off roader

Well after some lengthy discussions with er indorrs and some mates that would like to see me fail at doing something, i have decided to begin work on an offroad monster.

So, its a 5 door, would welding the doors shut (properly and so it looks "normal") suffice if i wanted to bobtail/truckcab it? Do i keep the Injection system and all the gremlins that go with it or do i source some sexy carbs from somewhere?

The interior strip commences on saturday, i intend to start a new fred wiv pics of whats goin on so yu's can all mercilessly take the ****! (maybe even give me some ideas!)

Not sure I'm following you on this approach, whats normal about welding the doors shut.

Before destroying the car it may be a good idea to have a close look at some other examples and speak to owners to find out how they went about it, the problems and not least the costs. Then make your own list of what you want, then a list of what you need, then a list of what you can reasonably do yourself............and if your still sure you want to do it get after it. Boring I know but the failure to plan is planning to fail.:)

Hehehe sorry i meant welding the doors up if i wanted to truck cab it, i think it would look odd with the doors still there. Anyway ill prolly bobtail it and keep the doors :D

HAve been looking at the a few sites, so im gathering ideas ;)

Get yourself a free download of something like Photo-FX, then play around manipulating digital pictures of the car into a truck cab or bobtail and look at it from different angles to get a better idea of how it might look.

Something like this? :D
