Opinions sought please on what 'bolic kit to buy for an SIII light weight?

There seem to be numerous kits that vary from £400-500 with a number of crucial differences:

ES1000,ES3000, and ES9000 shocks - which one - any thoughts?

Two and three leaf rears - all for 88" models. My use would be off-road (although not extreme - no winch) and very rarely loaded up - occaisonal trip to the tip.

Current short list is:

gonbe2far - Full Parabolic Spring package for 88" - Level "A" ES1000 shock and two leaf rear (£453)
rocky mountain kit - ES9000 + two leaf rear (£450)
explorer pro-comp - three leaf rear and ES3000 (£393)

I had a set of British Springs parabolics on an 88 series 3 diesel. Best mod ever! No problem with springs and easy (!) to fit a soaked all the bolts with penetrating oil for about month before attempting removal! Kept the standard shocks etc. and they worked no problems.

The springs worked fine, I think its was three leaves front and two leaves rear, with a similar usage to what you describe. The customer service from British Springs left something to be desired but good product in my experience though.

Then I sold the Landy and bought another one without parabolics - a mistake.!

I fitted British Springs parabolics with Delphi de Carbon gas shock absorbers.
Overall a great improvement although not a good a ride as coil springs.
If you fit de Carbon make sure you fit the rears the correct way up. They go with the labels and text upside down! I checked with the factory in Poland and they were very helpful and spoke good English!
It takes some time for the new springs and shock absorbers to settle in so they do appear to be quite stiff at first.
