We have an affinity for absorbing the very welcome subsidy(s) from our southern cousins .. keep it coming, what what what ... ;)

Here, I thought you was a feckin bog arab anyway !!!!!

Cheeky barsteward... Me da was born and dragged up on the shankill road.. His ma was a Bonney wee balfast girl and his da was a sweaty sock rivet catcher from the clyde. Who apparently came over to work in Harland an Woolfes. shipyard. Alledgedly worked on the Titanic ??

Nae on the Bulkheid's though ? ;):D:D

His job was to catch the white hot Rivets and drop em in the holes in the steel plate so someone else could hammer em into shape whilst they were still hot..

Not a pleasent job.. As ya can imagine what happened if ya miscaught the rivet??

Brilliant though eh .. a wee bit of real tradition and history.
As u say, could have been a bit 'iffy' if the 'catching eye' wasn't sync'ing too well with the hand on a certain day !

An ol' bud of mine from the M/C Club is a good Belfast Boy...
he spent a lot of time in Germany though, as his old man was stationed over there in the RAF . He's got a good 'twisted sense of the ridiculous' which is a very endearing trait.. tells a few good tales of 'the old country' !

At the east end of town
at the foot of the hill,
there's a chimney so tall,
that says Belfast Mill.

( a bit of the Fureys & Davey Arthur for ye .. you'll just have to imagine the tune) :bounce::bounce::clap2:

I've not done much offloading to be honest. I've done a bit in Ross's quarry about 8 years ago and was up at duntelchaig at the end of last year.
