"Being British is about driving in a German car to an Irish pub for
A Belgian beer, then traveling home, grabbing an Indian curry or a
Turkish kebab on the way, to sit on Swedish furniture and watch
American shows on a Japanese TV. And the most British thing of all?
Suspicion of anything foreign ".

SO SO TRUE!!!

What ever happen to the "GREAT" in Great Britain? Did we sell it to the Germans along with the rest of our crown jewels?????

does anyone make a great british car???? apart from the reliant robin

I don't think any thieving bast?*d has taken Morgan or TVR from these shores yet! Less said about MG the better...

Gareth Coe are you sure you haven't just borrowed the " GREAT" out of GB? The Great Gareth Coe! Has a nice ring to it!

Awww, the TVR. Would you want to be seen in a "Trevor" with a few letters removed because nobody would buy a Trevor? His Brother's TMS never took off did it?

Liked OD Pauls original post though, nice one. Oh & Gareth, can I pirate your Dutch........er, life studies!

you don't want to do that marcus matey..i seen a pirate dutch life study film once and it just not the same when they all have eye patches and wooden legs

Wooden legs? Oh, you got my interest now! Hang on, this is "Debbie does the Armada"..........Seen it!

British Cars - TVR is now owned by some state asset stripping Russki chum of the comrade who owns ChelseaFC
Morgan, Bristol, Caterham, Bowler, AC - still owned by Brits I think?

In all seriousness a chap called George Courtauld published a book about a year ago called "The Pocket Book of Patriotism" - it is chronological list with short explanations of all the key dates in the UK's history and also some dates from johnny foreigner's history(Agincourt, Trafalgar, Marriage of Figaro, 1479 the Spanish Inquisition formed etc). He wrote it as a reaction to his daughter not being taught UK history, through word of mouth he ended up doing an initial pulishing run of 10k books - instant bestseller and then a publisher got involved. Get it put on your santa list.

Talking of which (sort of) is it true that HM the Queen is still the queen of France? Or have we officially given it back now?

And I must say: I've never been called "The Great Gareth" before, it's usually something more like "C:eek: ntfeatures"

QEII - is more likely to be Kaiser than Q of France as she comes from German stock.
I blame Queen Victoria as we apparently now have to be apologetic about having had an empire regardless of the great benefits we bestowed eg. syphilis, Jeremy Clarkson(similar to a bad dose), Kajagoogoo, Bernie Ecclestone etc.

PS - just got back from Stella frenzy!!!!
