Been puzzling me for 6 years .
What is this under the passenger seat of my '99 Freelander 5 door .

dunno, mine's got the multichanger there. but that has it's own mounting brackets which line up with the seat mountings.

that looks like it is a standard tray adapted to fit the freelander, and not a multichanger unless it's been fitted the wrong way round.

have you have the unit out ?

You have a Harmon Kardon system and it is the power amp. If you have the 6 CD changer then this is normally fitted under the drivers side!

Yes the car is fitted with a HK system which comprised of HK logo'd front door tweeter covers but totally standard speakers in all doors !
There was a powered amp plus two base drivers in the boot chamber but they have been removed due to water damage .I'm surprised that there would be two power amps though but I'll remove and examine the unit and see if the wiring matches up with the loom in the boot.
Thanks

Mine is an 03 Premium. At some stage they integrated the sub amp into the main one as all there is the boot locker is a dual voicecoil speaker in an extended case and no amp.

Details in the Rave manuals are extremely limited.
