Will someone please tell me what this plug is for, it is about 5" back from the sump oil drain plug (Discovery 2 TD5)?
My mind wasn't on the job when I was changing the engine oil and I unscrewed this plug instead of the sump plug. I was surprised to find that nothing came out of it. I've looked in the Haynes manual and can't find any reference to it.

Just an access plug when I looked in mine I fished out some pieces of a spigot bush

Could it possibly be some sort of a wading plug?
