Just been looking at my injection pump and this rubber cap thing fell off with a small washer inside.

What is it and what does it do?

It is open to atmosphere to allow boost diaphragm to move down as turbo pressure increases. I think Bosch went a little over the top engineering it to keep shmoooo from entering as boost drops and pressure beneath diaphragm momentarily drops below ambient. Bung the washer back and tappy tap tap the housing to retain it then bung the rubber Johnny back on

Sadly they dont work if you do any deep water off road stuff, the fuel pin under the sliding piston will seize up.
Fine for road and light laning though.
