Hi all what is the metal box with two metal pipes going in one end, with a electrical plug and some more pipes maybe 4 coming out the other end, its bolted to the chassis under the drivers side, its starting to whine wtf is it?

presumably td5 ,ace (active cornering enhancement)valve block ,you have a hydraulic double acting ram front and back that pulls/pushes on roll bar to keep vehicle upright while cornering, is the reservoir full of oil (next to pas reservoir)

Hi James, yes TD5 I have checked the fluid level and its ok, if I excelerate the whining goes but at low revs it sounds like a bearing is going......

Hi I have checked the banjo connection the fluid is fine :D

It maybe nothing at all, as when i hold the pipes the vibrating stops so I am guessing the rubber guides are solid due to the extremely cold weather hence the vibration whining sound apparently the weather is going to warm up so I will update later in the week
Cheers:D

I had a similar problem to this on my old disco. After lots of looking and expecting a big bill it turned out to be a stone lodged between the ace unit and the mount making the rubber monts useless, and sending vibrations through the chassis. Unlikely to be the same thing but well worth a look.
