Hello all,

I have been offered through a friend all the parts for a Series 1 Land Rover minus the chassis and ID.

Bear with me on this. It was converted to run a 3.9 V8 on carbs and was then crashed resulting in a bent chassis and was written off. It was stripped and all the parts put in storage. The insurance company wanted the chassis back.

Everything appears to be there, V8, gearbox with conversion plate, axles, wheels, panels. All boxed and wrapped up neatly.

They have asked me to make sensible offer, £50 was not received well.

I realize there are a lot of unknowns but what are your thoughts on a value?

Thanks

Neil

Difficult, the parts would probably make quite a bit broken up and if they know that (prob do) then it might not be cheap. Must be at least a grands worth broken out if the body is good?

The DVLA has a mechanism for you to put it on the road with an age related numberplate if you wanted to, the classic reconstruction scheme. If you build it up with an original spec chassis and get the main club body to certify it is reconstructed to the spec and style of the original vehicle you will get a plate.
