Hi All,

Well the season of off roading in mud and water is fast approaching and whilst there is sun and bank holidays, there is always the opportunity to weld something and in my case that means boot floor, sills, inner wings and rear cross member.

So whilst I have the interior out for a clean and general spruce up I was wondering what to replace the carpet with.

Can anyone recomend a rubber coating that means a hose pipe can be used instead of a hoover and will also keep the noise down.

Anyhow I was wanting a perminent rubber covering and was hoping someone may have had some experience in using a particular product.

Years ago I used a rubber paint on product that set like a rubber matting but can't seem to find it.

was talking to a guy at billing who supplies a sound proofing suit material for lining defenders through fleabay. Try a search on there and you might ba able to get something made up.

what about the stuff they use in ponds its a rubber paint that is water tight ?????

I use schutz body sealer on the inside. Does a nice job if you spray it on just thin enough.

I know what you mean about this rubber business, but I bet it's a rarity to find it. Google rubber paint and see what happens...

Thanks everyone for your replies.

Currently looking at RubberCoat for roofs. Will go on sheet metal and whilst available in several colours it is also guarranteed down to -20 which is not too bad.

Much below that and the whole floor cracks lol. Anyway it has a 500%-700% elasticity so the flex in the rusty body shouldn't worry it haha.

Hi ya... I have used this stuff in my Disco. Its not soundproof but non slip and waterproof. Easy to apply but can small for a few days after application but good stuff...
