I'm reluctantly thinking of selling my 1977 series 3.
Now I realise that it's difficult without seeing it, but I'd like some idea of what it's worth.

The tax has run out. It has a couple of months mot.
It's not been getting much use for the past 2 years. Until 3 years ago it was in regular use.

The vehicle is in original condition, not been cut about or anything.
Usual little blemishes in the bodywork.
The bottom rail of the o/s door needs attention.

Any suggestions as to what a sensible value is would be appreciated.

^^^^ what he says.
I have just parted with a really straight and solid series three, 88" diesel with hard top and side windows for £2k

1200 - 2000 with mot assuming an 88

£1200 for something with no tax, basically no MOT, probably a bit rusty all over... and not tax exempt

Rather you than me. I'd struggle to part with £600 for that

They're going for that on ebay though!

I just paid £3500 for my new one

flipping heck...

Think our 1949 S1 was a couple of hundred and my '64 S2a with full mot was £750 with about £500 of spares thrown in for free... maybe i need to start looking after it a bit better!

Though i was offered a S3 for £250 the other day... hmm...

ah fair play. i missed out on a galv chassis recently from a bloke down the road :( he wanted £1k for it as a rolling chassis which seemed ok really.

got it welded up instead though - the plan was to give it a galv chassis for it's 50th birthday - guess it'll have to wait until it's 100th now

Mine was 50 about 6 years ago :p

Make your own chassis ;) not hard if you can weld

I can't weld.

I don't have a drive big enough for all the vehicles we currently have.

My workshop is at the top of a tiered garden with no vehicular access.

I don't have enough spare time to keep the current fleet going let alone embark on a big project.

Nice idea though :p

(Suppose if i start now it might be complete for the 100th anniversary?!)

so is this destined to the scrape yard in a year or so?

If past performance is an indicator of future performance...

... Yes! That or being sold of nut and bolt by nut and bolt in the LZ for sale section.

No pictures or new thread Dr. Evil? Come on! Go make a thread and post pictures! Its da :rulez:

As for something slightly more on topic, MOT it and put some tax on it and I think it becomes more appealing!
