Hi

Does anyone know what normally goes here - behind the cubby - land rover
on a Ninety - 1986? Picture attached

There is an elastic band./ strap that looks as if it should hold something. Wheel jack?

My 1984 has got the bottle jack, poles and wheel brace there, I think mine has metal clips and one or two thick rubber bands.
I don't have the Owners manual, maybe it's in there. Certainly not in the workshop manual.

Brilliant, thanks. Now I just have to get one!
If you're thinking about picking up one of the original jacks, the screw hi lift types I personally wouldn't bother. I just chucked mine in the shed, much prefer the red Disco 1/2 type bottle jack with the axle cradle... easier to use and quicker!

You are right but they are still nice to have. Defender/Disco bottle jack's are silly money for a 2nd hand jack.
Word of warning, some after market rear crossmembers will deform before actually lifting the vehicle if you try using the original jack, don't ask me how I know!
