Having had my first L322 Range Rover 2004, I realised quickly that i had been pretending I was driving a Range Rover with my 4 range Rover Sports I owned till now!!

I have just sold my 2011 Range rover Sport and want to upgrade my Vogue to a newer model but what engine and spec would you recommend?

The 3.6 TDV8 or the 4.4 TDV8 ? It has to be a diesel engine with the miles I cover!!

Also what spec? Vogue, SE, Westminster and what are the main differences between the specs?

I'm hoping to spend from £20-£25k depending on the trade in value of my one.

Thanks!

4.4 TDV8 and as model specs vary even between the same 'names' (due to the now typical options packages available) just pick one you like the look of with the toys you want!

I think the 4.4 might be at the top end of my budget, one of my mates reckons the SE is the best spec but i would need to look into it. I did notice they have heated and cooled seats! That sounds the business.

I've had 2 Range Rover Sports with the 3.6 TDV8 engines but is it exactly the same or have they beefed it up for the extra weight?

Same engine...

The 4.4 is more economical and not so prone to turbo and alternator issues!

Yes, the 4.4 is the upper end of the scale!
