Hi guys

I have been meaning to ask this question for some time but keep forgetting but why are some oil filler caps / dip stick handle's sometimes green and some are yellow on 200tdi engines is there a reason to have two different colours

I think the colour was standardised at some stage for UK cars. Many Fords/Vauxhalls use yellow for the oil filler.

Green is not very common on the 200, yellow is the main colour.
I cannot remember the last time I saw a green oil cap.

Is same here and has been for donkey ages. oil dip yellow and trans is red I believe.

It's all grey on my 1992 factory 200tdi!

The dipstick and cap are orange on our 2012 VW Beetle.

If you buy new replacements they come in the new colours ...

Cheer's lads its just that i have been looking on ebay at a few 200's and noticed some but not all are green and just wondered
