starter needed replacing..bere in mind the bits not there include lpg, lower and upper manifolds ..supercharger etc...

oh and the gearbox etc needed to be removed to get to starter bolts as they go in from behind block...oh joy!

Really? My 3.9 starter was a couple of bolts and some wires, 40 min job. How come a 4.6 is different? Is that it in the valley? How bizaare!
Mind you, mine failed from exhaust cooking it well and truly, so not ideally placed.
Or is this your lexus v8 jobbie?

thats the toyota/lexus powered one...12hrs to change starter excluding gearbox/transfer box removal/install!!

yes it is true, but however first starter in 16 yrs...

A while ago we had a Porsche cayenne in with the same thing, starter inside the Vee, buried under the inlet manifold. Crazy design, took almost as long to find it as to replace it! I sometimes think the idiots that come up with these ideas should be made to work on what they dream up........

it gets better..the rebuilt starter appears to be faulty...

great...
