I’ve just replaced my crank position sensor and took off part of the air intake to get better access. Incidentally I found removing the flexible intake allowed easy access to the cps from above.

I noticed a small rubber pipe below the air filter. I don’t know if became detached when loosening the air pipes but I can’t see anywhere obvious it should go. Seems to come from some of the emission control valves which aren’t used on my TD5 as it’s had the EGR removed.

any ideas if it should go somewhere?

The EGR valve will have had a vacuum pipe like the one in the photo, there are vac pipes running from the solenoid valves on the inner wing that are used on the EGR system. They are usually thinner blue pipes with thicker tube at each end (like the photo) to fit over the EGR valve pipes.

Thanks I think I’ve solved it. I noticed a small vent on side of the top part of the air filter housing and the pipe seems to fit this
