Just bought a 90 truck cab and have started the shopping list.

1) Raptor binnacle and binnacle mount (set of stainless screws).
2) Crimper and waterproof electrical connectors
3) Soldering Iron and shrink tube.

My first problem was the temp gauge running close to red then it started going up and down like fat girl on chips, I pulled the dash out and checked the wiring, the temp gauge holder nut was loose ...tightened it up problem solved, but this only highlighted how bad the wiring was behind the dash and also the binnacle tab on one side was broken. My train of thought is now start with dashboard and electrics then tidy up engine wiring.

After this want to get new seats including a centre seat, then canvas from exmoor trim (plus roof sticks), not sure what colour to go for, its an all black truck so Black or Sand, my thinking is the sand may look better.

Have a look for any nasty looking scotchlock joins in the wiring behind the dash/in the wings/bloody everywhere and replace them with nice soldered and heatshrunk joints.

Found quite a few scotch lock connectors already Zeaphod, why do people use them they are causing half the problems with my headlights, lots of soldering for me lol
