but next weekend i am going to this 4x4 meet. its on over the 2 days sat and sun. anyone goin or heard anythin about it ? its in north yourkshire somewere ?

Paul, where'd you get y a a bar from, looks identical to the one i fitted on mine a week ago :)
Dont forget the bonnet space, i put a couple of decent thick washers on my a bar to give it enough clearance for the bonnet.
Tomorrow (sat) im putting on a set of new panhard rod bushes, a new rear upper balljoint link and fixing my leak in screen. Oh and a new headlight bulb plug as the one thats on is broke.
That will do me for tomorrow i think.
Over the last 3 weekends ive fitted:

Side steps
A bar
2 spot lights
twin rear step
A dog guard
a new load cover
new aerial
new cd player
new tyres
new proper fit carpets
re-wired rear roof light
ditto boot light
new dashboard bulbs including heater controls
serviced it and ive changed all oils, including axles and transfer box.

Its going in week after next for a new crank oil seal and im putting a clutch in it.

If it breaks down after that its fookin up for sale. :)

Hi lenny1969, how did you get the transfer box oil in, as the filler plug is high amongst the body work you can not even get a 1Lt filler bottle to fill up the transfer box and decant a 4 Lt bottle in to and continue filling up? I went and got a 700ml oil filler that has a long nossle and thumb pump, to fill the 2.7Lt transfer box will take quiet a while, not to mention a sore thumb.

To be honest i didnt do that bit, my LR guy did that for me with his "magic" tools :)
Only because i encountered the same problem as you. Piggin awful thing to get at.

lol, did your LR guy do more on your list?
I need to get the gear box oil and oil filter changed, according to the haynes manual it is a LR dealer job as it is a specialist job, did your LR guy do yours and roughly how much would i be looking at?

ye he did the axle oils and box and greased what needed to be greased.
To be honest it should all come under a standard service, but my guy did all my oils and lubricants, stuck new filters on plus a thorough check over for 90 quid.

Better buy him a good bottle, Yeovil LR quoted £500 for a major service (which is mainly checks), lubs, oil, filters and greasing the prop spiders etc. almost fell off the chair.
By the way is he near to Dorset? for £90 i would get mine with out battig an eye lid.

Sorry mate he is on the Wirral peninsula if you know it, Liverpool way.

he was a LR mechanic for the army for years, then he joined the Aa when he left the forces, now he runs his own specialist place. Really friendly guys there, as well as Lorna his missus.

And for a full on service for my disco 300 tdi he wants around 270.

Looking pretty good Paul.
How was the A bar to fit, any washers or spacers needed?

And i really like those tinted windows...hmmmm, might just invest in some of them me thinks.

was sound to fit lenn , yea needed a few washes like ya said but was pretty sound. oil change an that tommorow. am after some grease to put on the prop joints ect.. anyone no what one and were i could get it possibly tommorow?
