Drained a gearbox today and this mixture came out. Looks to me like 90% water 5% oil and 5% metal fragments, not sure but I think the water is added for cooling reasons. What oil to water ratio do you guys use in your gearbox as i'm worried this mixture is a bit water heavy and I couldn't find this information in the haynes manual for some reason? Cheers.

Thinking that has been driven through deep water, which has found it's way into the gearbox.
Refill with 90 weight gear oil, and see how you go.
Also check the transfer box and axles, see if similar inside.

The bits of metal, one looks like a broken gear tooth, the others I can't identify at the moment, somebody else may.
You may find it drives OK like that with new oil, they are surprisingly tolerant of abuse.
