can i get a new underseat one and use it as a water tank or will it not be clean enough or what would u guys suggest thats what im thinking of doing i need a way of storing fresh water for me kettle :) and i want it 2 be permanent

Why don't you just fit an urn in the back like I've done? It takes about 45 mins to heat up enough water for 20 cups of tea.;)

dick.

you need caktanks (google) or an ex MOD jerry can in a holder. just remember if you have a perm tank you still need a means of filling it. better off with a pair of jerry cans (for water) giving you 40l or potable water.

i've got a few old LPG tanks here, they'd be much better

if you fit a changeover valve you then have the option to either fill your kettle or run on LPG - make sure you label the changeover valve

a brand new fuel tank il clean it out with bleach first the wash it properly i cant see why not why must u use a special tank

i was looking at doing a lpg conversion as well haha i know were im gonna put the tanks im gonna bend up some more ally were the military have lockers and put 2 tanks one on either side o have a lot planned

if you convert the existing tank to be your water carrier, leaving it in place along with the filler tube etc - just think how confused peeps would be seeing you fill it with water and drive away

do it and get it on ebay quickly you'll make a mint (one of those after eight ones)

because otherwise the water will be contaminated would you drink water out of an old metal dustbin???

no i wanna keep it ive built it up from the chassis upwards so far means loads 2 me never would sell it sell me brother first haha

no but if its brand new and u wash it with bleach

Unless it's stainless steel it'll rust. You could get one of the shaped plastic water tanks that goes behind the bulkhead. They are pricey though. A plastic Jerry can is much cheaper. If it's only for making tea though GET A FECKIN URN.

go on gman - put him out of his misery and ask him what happens to metal when it comes into contact with water over along period of time

doesn't matter it will still be full of chemicals, why do you think water jerry cans are lined?
