Hello there , I've just joined up I have a landy 1 td4 3 dr I think the water pump is on it's way out i'm only a basic have a goer at things , I've been quoted a rather large amount to do the job nearly what I paid for car .
I've had a look at it and it looks a bit of a daunting job to me ,any help /advice would be appreciated cheers

Done one a few years back. Fiddly but not hard. Limited space can be aided by jacking engine amd supporting with engine mount dis on rhs. Work through wheel arch track rod hole. I made some tools to fit bolts as space is limited. Cut down long reach socket turned with mole wrench! Worked ok. Some cars are bolts some have torx heads. You also need to cut old gasket from larger one which went on originally and replace just the water pump section. Change thermostat while you are in there and replace o ring in coolant rail pipe. Read Rave manual and buy pump before you start and then you'll see where bolts go. Happy to post photo as I still have a TD4 engine on bench. Took me about 4 hours. Obvs belt needs to come off. I did mine without lifting engine but space is tight. Good luck.

Remove belt and check pump pulley for play. Bearings can collapse. Check water is from pump and not coolant rail fitting on thermostat housing bolted to pump. Also if you run engine briefly without belt you can check noise has gone. Also check for play on alternator and steering pump pulley while belt off.
