Hi.. Just looked at my lil tonka toy and I've noticed water leaking from the passenger side of the engine. I can't see where the water is coming from but can see it dripping. The coolant results was also empty. Car doesn't overheat and runs perfect. No sludge or nasties going on. I'm really puzzled with this on. Any help please guys

What engine is fitted ?
On my ancient diesel the water pump is on the RH side but yours could be different depending on engine etc.
Run low on coolant at your peril !

The Water pump is on the RH side of all FL1s Gary;) But know what engine it is would definitely help.;)

Also, is it actually running off the RH side of the engine or somewhere else and just running along the under tray and dripping out on the RH side?

Sorry guys.. It's a 1.8 petrol. I've looked all over and All the pipes and the engine itself look dry.Seems to be coming from nr the air con pipes, but they are dry. ItsI running down to the pass front wheel and that's where I noticed it

My sons was leaking and I thought it was the hg it turns out it was the manifold o rings from the back of the engine

If there a constant water drip from behind the LH side front wheel? Then that's actually condensation off the AC evaporator, which drips out of the heater assembly.

For coolant loss, check for cracking around the pressure cap.

Are these system's under that much pressure ? I've heard this is a well known fault but recently some numpty ( ok it was me ) forgot to replace the cap and drove car with no problems till I bought a replacement in UK.
Over £10 ! !

Yes the cooling system is under pressure, up to 18 Psi when very hot.

I had the same symptoms as hawke 113a, would slowly loose coolant but with no sign of a leak. That's how I was out for a drive, topped up reservoir and forgot to replace cap !
Drove many miles in the desert heat with no extra water loss. It was only when it got worse you could see it dripping from the off side front of engine which as we know is water pump.

The L Series is a lot more forgiving when it comes to coolant.
