Hello!

Does anyone know of anywhere I can actually show my new Landy at least some grass this evening? I don't have time for a greenlaning trip (unless there's a 10-20 minute route in Huntingdon somewhere), but it would be nice just to get it off the tarmac for 20 minutes or so, ya know...

Any suggestions?

Oh, and no deep stuff, no risk/low risk of getting stuck etc... this isn't going to be an organised trip, I just want to try driving it on something other than tarmac for the first time ever!

Also, this is now my main day-to-day vehicle, and I have to be able to go to work in it tomorrow!

ok, I've been browsing the online 1:25,000 ordnance survey map searching for lines made from + symbols as I understand these to be BOATs. Please correct me if I'm wrong!

I then looked at each end of the BOAT on Google Maps and Google Streetview and noticed that one or two of them appear to be blocked by locked gates!

Ordnance survey says they're BOATs, but they are gated off. Is this a case of mistaken ownership (i.e. someone not knowing it's a right of way and assuming it's their property and therefore gating it off) or could there be some other reason?

And yes - I've read the greenlaners association code of conduct and remembered most of it... :D

Thanks again! :D

I'm not far from the ring road... I found some lanes near Alconbury, Sawtry, Stukeley, Holywell & Over last night... any more?? :D

point taken... i've since been staring at ordnance survey maps and have actually found plenty of BOATs! none actually in Huntingdon, but many in the surrounding areas! :)

Most of them will close at the end of the month that are local to you till the spring time.

well, i noticed one of them has a sign at the start of it saying it was open until the end of September, but most of them don't.

Is it just common knowledge that greenlanes are 1 April 'til 30 September (or whatever the dates are)?
