You were able to extend Land Rover's warrenty on a new vehicle up to five years and it's transferable if required but that was when a warrenty for a new vehicle was one year, for what it covers speak to the Land Rover dealer.
You must remember for the warrenty to be valid you must have your disco serviced at a Land Rover dealer.
I have had a LR warrenty twice and had only had a pinion oil seal replaced under it, thats £6000+ oil seal.
i rhink yu will find thar is no longwr the case - just has to be a VAT registered company using oem parts.

I am currently looking into this for my 2 1/2 year old Disco 3.

For me now it's a ballance in costs, yes an £800 warrenty will cover a £2000+ replacement gearbox should it fail or a new radiator but then you would be unlucky with newish vehicle, theres a lot of normal small jobs that can be carried out for the £800, or what ever the cost is now, and you will pay that each year.
I dont think I would extend the warrenty over the manufactures one again, what ever make but then most now give a 3 or 4 year as standard, not the one year as it use to be for new or s/h vehicles.
Thanks for your comments - I am weary of insurance based warrenties (and rightly so given your comments) but I had heard it was possible to extend the original Land Rover warrenty. Think I may be better of keeping the money and dealing with things as, when and if they arise. Thanks for all your comments.
